Position Summary:
The Quality Assistant will support MPI Label Systems’ quality initiatives by driving process improvement, ensuring compliance with internal and external quality standards, and supporting continuous improvement throughout the production lifecycle. This role will work cross-functionally with manufacturing, engineering, and customer service teams to uphold our reputation for excellence in the printing and packaging industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and enforce company quality standards, procedures, and best practices across departments.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective action efforts related to internal quality issues and customer complaints.
- Analyze production data, process capability, and quality performance metrics; recommend improvements to reduce waste and increase consistency.
- Conduct internal audits and assist with external customer or third-party audits (ISO, GMP, etc.).
- Develop inspection criteria and train operators on in-process inspection techniques and quality requirements.
- Assist in the maintenance of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and documentation control.
- Collaborate with R&D, production, and sales teams to ensure new products meet customer and regulatory requirements.
- Facilitate continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or other structured methodologies.
- Stay up to date on industry trends, customer expectations, and regulatory changes affecting quality systems and compliance.
Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience in a quality assistant role, preferably in the printing, packaging, or manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, GMP, and other applicable quality standards.
- Proficient in quality tools such as 8D, FMEA, SPC, control plans, and CAPA systems.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings/specifications and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with flexographic printing, shrink sleeve labels, or flexible packaging is a plus.
