Minuteman Press, the world’s largest and top-rated digital print, marketing, and design franchise is seeking candidates for a position as a Graphic Designer / Prepress and Production Artist.
We are seeking a talented and creative Graphic Designer / Prepress operator to join our team. As a Prepress Designer, you will be responsible for creating visually appealing designs for print, manage a database of files, and process client artwork and mailings for print production. The ideal candidate for a position with our company will be highly proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite, primarily InDesign with experience in Photoshop and Illustrator. We require great attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Production experience in printing and finishing is highly desired, but we are willing to train the right person.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
-Create visually appealing graphics for digital and print media.
-General typesetting and page layout on a range of customer projects including stationery, promotional products, annual reports, mailings, and large format.
-Preparing digital files, checking fonts, links, and colors, creating bleeds, crops, imposing art and exporting print-ready files.
-Reviewing job specifications from work orders and ensuring that client files are accurate, and the finished job exceeds customer expectations.
-Keep an organized digital file system, using our franchise process.
-Data list cleanup and mail prep using AccuZip (we will train candidate) with the use of InDesign data merge or XMPie.
-Operate wide format printers.
-Using prepress software like PitStop Pro and Quite Imposing to preflight artwork and impose as needed.
-Ad hoc projects as directed by management.
Requirements:
-Proven experience as a Graphic Designer or similar role with a portfolio of past work.
-High level of proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite; primarily InDesign with experience in Photoshop and Illustrator.
-Associates degree in graphic design or related field.
-Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
-Passion for print and promotional product design and production.
-Excellent communication skills to effectively work in a team environment.
-Ability to troubleshoot and learn new tasks and software as needed.
-Professional appearance and work ethic.
-Flexibility with overtime as needed during busy times of the year.
-Ability to work independently, quickly, and produce accurate work.
