What are the responsibilities and job description for the SURGERY - GENERAL PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT position at MPLT Healthcare?
Assignment Dates : November 6, 2024 - February 28, 2025
This locum tenens position supports the Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery (CVT) team by assisting in cardiac surgeries, inpatient rounding, and outpatient clinics. The CVT PA will work directly with surgeons and a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive pre- and post-operative care to cardiac patients.
Responsibilities :
Operating Room First Assist : Assist in OR for complex cardiac surgeries, including coronary artery bypass grafts (CABG), endoscopic vessel harvesting (EVH), trans-catheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), and surgical valve repair / replacement.
Inpatient Rounding : Daily rounds on post-operative cardiac patients, managing care in collaboration with the surgical team.
Outpatient Clinic : Conduct patient consults and follow-up appointments in the clinic, with two 4-hour sessions per week.
Requirements :
Active Pennsylvania license
DEA certification
Current BLS and ACLS certifications
