Position Overview
The Doors, Frames & Hardware Project Manager drives the end‑to‑end delivery of all doors, frames, and hardware products for our distribution business. You’ll partner closely with sales, operations, vendors, and customer service to ensure timely order fulfillment, accurate inventory management, and exceptional client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Order Management & Coordination
- Serve as primary point of contact for commercial and residential clients regarding product specifications, lead times, and delivery schedules
- Review incoming purchase orders; verify quantities, part numbers, and special requirements (fire‑rated, ADA‑compliant, security hardware)
- Coordinate order entry, processing, and scheduling with warehouse and logistics teams
- Vendor & Supply Chain Liaison
- Build and maintain relationships with manufacturers and suppliers of door slabs, steel and aluminum frames, and hardware suppliers
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and expedited options; monitor supplier performance and lead‑time adherence
- Manage backordered items and proactively communicate status updates to internal teams and customers
- Inventory & Quality Control
- Collaborate with inventory planners to maintain optimal stock levels; track turns and aging
- Implement cycle‑count procedures; investigate and resolve discrepancies
- Coordinate quality inspections for inbound shipments; handle non‑conforming materials and warranty claims
- Project Scheduling & Delivery
- Develop and track project timelines from order placement through installation support
- Liaise with freight carriers and third‑party installers to schedule deliveries and on‑site hardware hang‑ups
- Ensure all documentation (packing lists, certificates of compliance, installation instructions) accompanies shipments
- Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Work with Sales to forecast demand and support quoting for complex door/hardware packages
- Partner with Customer Service to resolve order issues, expedite shipments, and manage after‑sales service requests
- Provide training and reference materials to internal teams on new product lines and vendor catalogs
- Continuous Improvement & Reporting
- Analyze key metrics (on‑time delivery, order accuracy, inventory turns) and drive process improvements
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports on project status, vendor performance, and inventory health
- Lead root‑cause investigations for repeat issues and implement corrective action plans
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5 years’ experience managing doors, frames, and/or hardware orders in a distribution or wholesale environment
- Strong understanding of product codes, fire ratings, and industry standards (e.g., ANSI, BHMA, NFPA)
- Proficient with ERP systems and MS Office (especially Excel, Access)
- Excellent organizational, negotiation, and customer‑service skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet tight deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in architectural openings specialist background
- Familiarity with inventory management best practices (ABC analysis, safety stock calculations)
- Certification in APICS CPIM or CSCP, or FHIA (Fire & Hardware Installation Association)
- Knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma methodologies
Working Conditions
- Office‑based role with occasional warehouse and vendor‑site visits
- Standard business hours, with occasional flexibility to meet customer deadlines
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs for sample handling and participate in cycle‑counts

Pay: $89,095.00 - $97,584.00 per year
