MPOWR Culture connects the community to a valuable resource and allows youth to gain an interest in the social and recreational benefits of sports. We are intentional about sowing seeds to help impact athletes’ lives and change the basketball culture. Through youth basketball programs, mental performance coaching, and events athletes gain an arsenal of tools to use that strengthen their social, emotional wellness. Weekly basketball classes, seasonal basketball camps, select summer teams, and fall basketball leagues are available for players grades 3- 12. Our organization is committed to the personal development of athletes, both on and off the court.
As a Basketball Program Coordinator, you will help develop youth basketball players. There is an incredible benefit to growing your coaching and leadership skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Work under master trainer, providing skill & player development for athletes
• Observe training sessions & provide instruction to athletes
• Assist in planning, organizing, developing, and evaluating recreation events and athletic programs
• Offer support in coordinating and executing annual youth events
• Provide mid-season performance evaluations
• Build relationships with vendors and other business partners
• Engage with athletes & parents
• Provide written and verbal insight to help athletes' basketball journey
• Engage community, spreading awareness of basketball programs and their benefit to athletes
• Gather content & develop social media posts
REQUIREMENTS:
• Former or current basketball player
• Interest in Kinesiology, Recreation, Exercise & Sport Science, Coaching, or related field
• Personable, good people skills
• Strong verbal skills, communicating well with others
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
• Experience working with children and adolescents in a sports or educational setting
• Knowledge of basic computer skills and ability to use software applications relevant to the role
SCHEDULE:
Part time, 12 - 15 hours a week. Must be able to work some evenings for the duration of a program, (12 - 14 weeks). Applicants should be local to Austin Metro area.
Salary range is $12 - 15 per hour depending on experience
