Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Financial Controller to oversee our financial operations and ensure compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, including GAAP, and be proficient in various accounting software such as Quickbooks and Glean. This role is crucial for maintaining accurate financial records, managing payroll, and providing insightful account analysis to support strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Manage the general ledger, ensuring accurate account reconciliation and reporting.
- Supervise payroll processing and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
- Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Collaborate with external auditors during financial audits and prepare necessary documentation.
- Prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial reports for management review.
- Ensure compliance with governmental accounting standards where applicable.
- Train and mentor accounting staff to enhance their skills and performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Financial Controller or similar role in accounting.
- Strong knowledge of debits and credits, account reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Glean, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with governmental accounting practices is a plus.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills to effectively present financial information to stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
