ACCOUNT REPRESENTATIVE  

REPORTS TO: Regional Director of Sales              LOCATION:   Midland     

CLASSIFICATION: Exempt                                 

DRUG TESTING REQUIRMENTS: This position is subject to PHMSA drug testing in accordance with Milford policies.  

DRIVING REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a valid driver’s license and must pass MVR requirements in accordance with Milford policies.  

BACKGROUND CHECK REQUIREMENTS: This position is subject to a third-party position specific background check in accordance with Milford policies and procedures.  

JOB SUMMARY:  

The Account Rep will play a key role in generating revenue by developing HDPE supply, technical services, and rental equipment opportunities within an assigned territory. Schedules in-person meetings with current and potential clients. Develops business across multiple sales channels focusing on oil and gas operators, midstream companies, water/gas municipalities and engineering/design firms. Identifies customer needs through consultation and creates sales quotes/orders to meet customer requirements. Maintains customer relationships through communication, support, and high-level customer service.  

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  1. Recognize and cultivate potential sales leads from existing and prospective customers within an assigned territory. 

  1. Meet with current and prospective clients in-person or by telephone. 

  1. Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of our products and services and how they can benefit our customers.  

  1. Create and implement a sales strategy based on market conditions within assigned territory. 

  1. Maintain a strong customer relationship after the sale through follow up meetings or phone calls. 

  1. Develop clear communication channels for new and existing customers. 

  1. Identify customer product needs and create sales quotes/orders. 

  1. Develop clear and effective written proposals based on customer requests. 

  1. Participate in trade shows and other industry networking opportunities. 

  1. Partner with the Regional Director of Sales regarding customer account activity, invoicing requirements, and customer feedback on products and services. 

  1. Partner with clients, vendors, Credit and A/R to quickly resolve customer service issues. 

  1. Other duties as assigned.  

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: 

  1. Ability to prospect, develop and grow an assigned sales territory through various sales methods. 

  1. Self-starting personality. 

  1. Ability to travel regionally (75% required, with occasional overnight stays as required by business needs.) 

  1. Ability to learn, present and support multiple product lines. 

  1. Strong time management, organization, and ability to multitask. 

  1. Ability to interact with decision makers at all levels of an organization. 

  1. Analytical and problem-solving skills. 

  1. Effective verbal and written communications skills. 

  1. Knowledge of general safety practices with the ability to follow Milford and customer specific safety standards. 

  1. Ability to provide H2S and PEC certification and/or pass Milford offered course upon onboarding.  

  1. Excellent presentation skills. 

  1. Excellent customer service. 

  1. Ability to drive light duty truck/trailer combo less than 10,000 pounds 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CERTIFICATION: 

  1. Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.  

  1. Five years of industry sales related experience required. 

  1. Obtain client specific safety training provided by Milford within 2 months.  

  1. Ability to provide H2S and PEC Certification and/or pass Milford offered course upon onboarding.  

WORK ENVIRONMENT 

  1. Sales Counter/Office/Client Office. 

  1. Customer project sites, enclosed warehouse, and storage yard. 

  1. Occasional high noise level, dust, fumes such as fuel or exhaust may be encountered. 

  1. Sometimes exposed inclement weather while working outside or driving vehicle. 

  1. Occasionally exposed to bright or dim lighting conditions while driving. 

  1. Exposure to H2s and/or other toxic fumes varying by customer location.  

  1. Driving over rough terrain on customer locations or bid walks.  

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 

  1. Minimum 75% of travel required, with occasional overnight stays as required by business needs. 

  1. Ability to stand, sit, stoop, reach with arms, kneel and push/pull/lift 50 pounds. 

  1. Ability to walk long distances in rough terrain. 

  1. Stooping, crouching, kneeling, crawling, climbing ramps or stairs. 

  1. Speaking, publicly.  

  1. Ability to wear PPE. 

  1. Reaching overhead, at or below shoulder level. 

  1. Keyboarding. 

  1. Driving (and ability to maintain valid driver’s license and pass MVR in accordance with insurance requirements) 

  1. Sitting for long periods of time. 

  1. Standing for extended periods of time.
