What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Assurance Technician position at MPV Morganton Pressure Vessels, LLC?
Job Summary:
The person in this position is in charge of process auditing, process control and root cause analysis regarding internal non-conformances.
Essential Job Functions:
- Sample measurement of Prototype Vessels.
- Root Cause Analysis of internal non-conformances complaints (following 8D, 5-Why, Ishikawa “Fishbone” Diagrams).
- Implement containment actions and document results.
- Report daily defects from Production to the Quality Manager.
- Plan, conduct and monitor Quality Tests for process improvement.
- Prepare reports of Quality outcomes of testing and other activities.
- Lead teams for corrective actions based on internal defect reporting.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with Quality and Industry regulations.
- Conduct routine and non-routine analyses of in-process materials, raw materials, finished goods, or stability samples.
- Interpret test results, compare them to established specifications and control limits, and make recommendations on appropriateness of data for release.
- Perform visual inspections of finished products.
- Complete documentation needed to support testing procedures including data capture forms, equipment logbooks, or inventory forms.
- Participate in out-of-specification and failure investigations and recommend corrective actions.
- Supply quality control data necessary for regulatory submissions.
- Receive and inspect raw materials.
- Investigate or report questionable test results.
- Perform validations or transfers of analytical methods in accordance with applicable policies or guidelines.
- Ensure that cleanliness and safety standards are maintained.
- Identify quality problems and recommend solutions.
- Monitor testing procedures to ensure that all tests are performed according to established item specifications, standard test methods, or protocols.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent, desired Associate degree in technical discipline and/or commensurate experience.
- At least one (1) years’ experience in a Quality related field.
- Knowledge of welding a plus.
- Proven ability to read and interpret prints, dimensions, tolerances, references.
- Capable of using measuring tools, identifying/reporting discrepancies between drawings and as-built parts, conforming vs. non-conforming parts.
- Basic knowledge of hand tools (wrenches, hammers, sanders, etc.)
- Certifications are an advantage in Quality Systems (ISO 9001, Lean, Six Sigma)

This job operates in a manufacturing environment which requires a thorough knowledge of the industry and understanding of the importance of safety. It routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
All positions require that you successfully pass a drug screening test.
