The IT Asset Management Technician II is responsible for managing Rogers Behavioral Health (RBH) information technology throughout the equipment’s life cycle process. The position will work within the phases of Procurement, Deployment, Management Operations, and Retirement as directed by the Manager of Infrastructure Architecture. An ideal candidate will work to streamline each phase to increase efficiency and accuracy. The IT Asset Management Technician will apply agile methods through team self-organization by participating in daily scrum meetings to facilitate the development and operation of technology optimizations and solutions. This position will coordinate network activities with the Managed Services provider, collaborating with the provider on any issues and changes as directed by the Manager. The IT Asset Management Technician II will also be involved with the yearly budgeting process to ensure capital hardware projections are accurate.
REQUIRED SKILLS :
- Under general guidance develop, organize and deliver it asset management support for all levels of the organization.
- Serve as the subject matter expert on Clinical Technology Services (CTS) hardware and deployments within the company.
- Work with leadership to procure new hardware and software.
- Record asset information in the inventory management system.
- Determine hardware needs based on business requirements.
- Peripherals applications with new equipment to ensure compatibility.
- Organize assets in a dedicated secure place before and after imaging.
- Track and plan for deliveries from vendors and verifying quantities after deliveries.
- Work with user experience to determine future hardware and software needs.
- Prepare hardware based on the requirements of the deployment location.
- Ship and track deployments for refreshes, new sites or upgrades.
- Provide detailed deployment records to field technicians to ensure assets are given to the correct sites.
- Work with the deployment committee to ensure the needs for future deployments are met.
- Troubleshoot steps in Microsoft Imaging Technology to improve the efficiency of the imaging process.
- Streamline the deployment process to minimize time and effort spent at each site.
- Deploy software, implement security controls and manage settings on hardware before deployment.
- Management Operations, serve as an endpoint configuration resource in support of the Infrastructure team.
- Maintain records for all hardware and software assets within the organization related to IT, conducting audits and working with Field Services to keep the inventory database up to date.
- Develop and document plans for hardware asset management (e.g. onboarding, replacement, repair, refreshes, and disposal).
- Available during sprints to offer insight and support the scrum team.
- Repair or replace malfunctioning machines.
- Work with vendors to schedule and manage warranty repairs.
- Determine long term solutions to ongoing problems between software and hardware.
- Schedule updates based on company need, compatibility and security.
- Ensure in the case of an emergency adequate hardware is available and can be quickly deployed.
- Determine when machines should be retired.
- Evaluate the need to replace / retire based on the lifecycle process.
- Track and manage the sanitization of hard drives and other retired media per NIST standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Enables development and optimization in the network team using agile methods to deliver quality products & services in a timely fashion.
- Promotes self-organization in the network team through active participation in daily scrum meetings and consistent demonstration of core scrum values.
- Participates in identifying, monitoring, and meeting key performance metrics to drive continuous process improvement.
- Promotes efficiency by participating in identifying and removing impediments to daily task completion within the network team.
- Assists in ensuring proper prioritization of projects and tasks within the network team.
- Service as main point of contact for support of activities surrounding the Managed Services provider and other external vendors / contractors.
- Administer and support Rogers Behavioral Health IT systems, coordinating with the managed services provider.
- Coordinate with Managed Services Provider to perform scheduled tasks at required intervals.
- Beginning escalation point for network issues, coordinating with technical teams, managed service provider and vendors to resolve in a timely manner.
- Develop and maintain installation and configuration change control procedures, mitigating impact to users. Communicate and coordinate changes with managed service provider.
- Troubleshoot network performance issues as needed. Collaborate with managed service provider on resolution.
- Respond to alerts, resolve or escalate issues as necessary. Collaborate with managed service provider.
- Collaborate with managed service provider on recovery needs.
- Coordinate any voice and data cable needs with contractors. Responsible for cable patching to ensure connectivity needs are met.
