Essential Functions
As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be essential in maintaining and repairing diesel engines and related equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety. Reporting to the Plant Manager, your core responsibilities will include conducting diagnostics and performing equipment repairs. Your Diesel Mechanic Certification, along with your computer skills and CDL, will be vital in executing these tasks effectively. With relevant skills you will contribute to the reliability of our fleet and support the organization's commitment to excellence in service delivery.
- Starting at up to $29.00 per hour depending on experience**
Essential Functions
- Performs PM, Post Trip, and Annual Vehicle Inspections.
- Perform Vehicle Diagnostic, utilizing diagnostic software, and Troubleshooting.
- Repairs and replaces tires, clutches, and brakes.
- Perform complete engine overhaul.
- Completes differential, transmission, and driveline repairs.
- Repair and replacement of any bolt on item.
- Complete inspection and repair of all special equipment.
- Major automotive electrical repair.
- Performs mentorship/training and monitors in-house/contracted services.
- May be required to work temporarily at branch/customer locations maintaining/repairing equipment.
- Administrative Duty’s: Computer Skills
- Travel to branch locations and customer sites as needed.
- Position must be able interact with operations, logistics, and production teams and provide support as needed.
- Perform other duties as directed.
- Must be able to determine how to repair equipment in the most effective manner.
- Must determine safest method of performing job.
- Diesel Technology Degree or Certified Diesel Technician and 6-8 years of commercial fleet experience.
- 8 or more years of fleet diesel experience preferred.
- Must have effective oral and written communications skills, effective listening skills, and ability to interact with others.
- Mack Diesel Truck experience preferred.
- Commercial Driver’s License preferred.
