JOB FUNCTION:
The Operational Data Engineer is responsible for implementing, maintaining, and optimizing industrial
data historian systems. This role involves integrating data collection systems, analyzing operational data,
and delivering actionable insights to improve efficiency and system performance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Project Implementation: Plan, execute, and manage historian system projects, ensuring timely
delivery and alignment with organizational goals while engaging stakeholders.
• System Integration & Maintenance: Configure and integrate historian systems with PLCs and
SCADA, monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure compliance with industry
standards.
• Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze historian data to generate insights, create dashboards and
reports, validate data, and ensure reporting accuracy.
• Collaboration & Training: Collaborate with engineering, IT, and operations teams, train users,
and provide ongoing system support.
• Compliance & Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of system
configurations and workflows.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Associate degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (bachelor’s preferred).
2. 3 years with PLCs, SCADA systems, and industrial historian platforms, with a track record of
successful technical project execution.
3. Expertise in PLCs, SCADA, industrial automation protocols (OPC, Modbus, MQTT), SQL
databases, and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau); programming skills (Python,
C ) are a plus.
4. Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills; effective both
independently and in teams.
