The Opportunity:
The Store Manager is responsible for all day-to-day operations related to tasks essential to store operation. This includes the achievement of store objectives, the implementation of policies and procedures, staffing, merchandising, and maintaining Parkland USA’s high standards of customer service and image.
Responsibilities:
- Role models and reinforces the organizational culture of Parkland USA through coaching, mentoring, rewarding, and accountability.
- Implements various programs, policies, and promotions in support of organizational objectives.
- Performs management duties as required, including assuring proper sale and accounting of all products.
- Develops, implements, and enforces daily operating procedures to ensure store is clean, adequately stocked and organized.
- Directs and prioritizes work of store personnel.
- Motivates, encourages, and effectively challenges employees.
- Ensures all employees deliver excellent customer service.
- Recruits, hires, and trains store employees.
- Resolves customer complaints in a timely, professional manner.
- Maintains a safe work environment including performing loss prevention duties.
- Prepares food & drinks.
- Properly cleans and maintains equipment.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Must be age 19 years or older in order to sell tobacco and alcohol.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
- Minimum 1year of previous managerial experience in a convenience store, restaurant or retail environment
- Positive outgoing personality and excellent customer service skills.
- Able to operate an electronic cash register and computer and perform simple arithmetic calculations.
- Proficient verbal & written communication skills.
- Ability to work in varying outdoor climates and in-store cooler environments.
- Physical ability to complete required duties, including standing, lifting, bending, reaching, and walking.
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Food Service Manager’s Certificate, or ability to obtain this certificate
