The Lead Sommelier is expected to be an expert in all areas pertaining to wines. The Sommelier must be able to assist guests with
recommending wine selections that pair well with their food selections. The sommelier’s expertise is an essential part of the
guests dining experience. Thus, the sommelier will advise the Beverage Manager on any updates that should be made to the
current wine lists, as well as assist the Beverage Manager in ways to source unique and high-quality wines.

- Keeps inventory and orders wine to replenish stock
- Stores wines on racks or shelves in wine cellar to inventory and ensure accurate retrieval of orders
- Meets with winery representatives and tastes wines to select for wine list
- Maintains wine list and recommends bottle or individual glass prices
- Recommends guests wine pairing with their dinner
- Discusses wines with guests and assists guests to make wine selections

Requirements
- Certification as a Sommelier or a Degree in Hospitality is beneficial
- Previous experience as a Sommelier, Wine Steward, or in a Hospitality role
- Extensive knowledge on wines and regions of the different types
- Knowledge of local vineyards and wineries
- An understanding of the wine making process.
- Must abide by the brand standards pertaining to uniform requirements
