The Pastry Cook’s responsibilities include preparing quality pastry items created by the Executive Pastry Chef, such as desserts,

breads, ice creams, sorbets, creams, simple syrups, amenities, displays/centerpieces and special request items, as well as

helping keep the kitchen running smoothly. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in culinary arts with a passion for

sweet and delicious creations. Some of their key duties and responsibilities include:

  • Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment; use equipment and tools only as

intended, properly and safely

  • Maintain and strictly abide by state sanitation/health regulations and restaurant requirements
  • Meet with the Pastry Chef to review assignments, anticipated business levels, changes and other information

pertinent to the job performance.

  • Inspect the cleanliness and working conditions of all tools, equipment and supplies
  • Check production schedule and par in order to establish priority items for the day
  • Prepare all menu items following recipes and yield guides, according to departmental standards.
  • Executing pastry orders and accommodating special requests.
  • Demonstrating skill in baking pastries, desserts, cakes, cookies, sweets, and pies.
  • Creating enticing confectionery decorations and delicious pastry fillings, as well as keeping abreast of

new pastry baking techniques.

  • Applying classic pastry baking techniques when preparing traditional pastries.
  • Adding novel, creative, and delicious pastry items to the existing selection.
  • Monitoring equipment and ensuring all specialized pastry baking tools are in working order.

Requirements

  • Proficient in English or Spanish is a plus
  • Ability to stand on your feet for several hours
  • High School diploma or equivalent vocational training certificate
  • Certification of culinary training or apprenticeship preferred.
  • Demonstrates adequate pastry skills and operations
  • Be able to plan and prepare for restaurant, catering and special event

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or

training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Personal Apperance

  • Must abide by the brand standards.
  • Slip resistant black shoes is a must.
  • Must be cleanshaven at all times.
  • All employees must maintain good personal hygiene. Fingernails must be cut and clean. Personal

appearance must be suitable for work at all times.

  • Maintain personal health and sanitation standards (wash hands when using restroom, etc.)
