Are you ready to be the welcoming face of something exciting? We’re looking for enthusiastic and hard-working Maître D/Hosts to join our team at our dynamic, multi-venue restaurant concept in Greenport, Long Island. This exciting venture is backed by one of Manhattan’s hottest nightlife groups!
We’re transforming the iconic Crabby Jerry’s into Common Country, a day-to-night club concept that will be the talk of Greenport. Alongside it, we’re introducing Charlie Boy, a fresh dining experience in the legendary former Claudio's space, and Little Charli Pizza, offering mouthwatering Roman-style pizzas with a NYC twist in a fun, laid-back atmosphere.
As a Maître D/Host, you’ll be the first point of contact for our guests, setting the tone for an unforgettable dining experience. You’ll be responsible for managing reservations, greeting and seating guests, and ensuring smooth coordination between the front-of-house and kitchen teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome guests with a warm and friendly attitude.
- Manage the reservation system and ensure guests are seated promptly.
- Coordinate with the servers and kitchen team to maintain a smooth flow of service.
- Maintain a clean and organized front-of-house area.
- Handle guest inquiries, special requests, and concerns with professionalism and courtesy.
- Manage waitlists, ensure guests are updated on wait times, and maintain a positive atmosphere during busy periods.
- Assist with managing the guest experience to ensure a high level of satisfaction.
- Communicate effectively with team members to anticipate guest needs and ensure excellent service.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Maître D, Host, or in a customer-facing role in a fast-paced restaurant environment is preferred, but not required.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy setting.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and maintain a positive attitude.
- A passion for providing excellent customer service and creating a welcoming environment for guests.
- Must be 18 and able to comply with New York State certification requirements, if applicable.
