Mr. Rooter Plumbing is seeking an Excavation Manager for our Columbus location!
Job Summary: The Excavation Manager is responsible for overseeing all excavation and relining jobs, ensuring safety compliance, managing crews, and maintaining equipment. This role exists to protect the company by ensuring the safety of employees and operations while maintaining profitability. The Excavation Manager will have the authority to halt any job that poses a risk to the company.

Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure all jobs adhere to safety regulations and company policies. Make executive decisions to halt any projects that may jeopardize safety or profitability.
- Job Scheduling: Schedule all jobs in for the day of digging or relining. Review and manage the job board daily for accuracy. Assign and dispatch crews to jobs each morning. Confirm and pin notes for each dig scheduled for the next day.
- Excavation Call Tickets: Make contact with customers via recorded calls or email chains. Resolve and close call tickets promptly, documenting resolutions or escalating unresolved tickets as necessary.
- Equipment Maintenance: Maintain a visible schedule for all excavation equipment PMs on an office calendar. Track equipment going in and out of service.
- Daily Inspections: Visit job sites to review the scope of work and progress. Inspect all excavation vehicles and equipment for condition and cleanliness. Ensure jobs are completed efficiently and safely.
- Pre-Excavation Review: Review sold jobs to confirm diagnoses and approve or adjust scopes of work as necessary.
- Recruitment: Interview candidates for dig crew and closer positions. Collaborate with recruiting teams and obtain hiring approvals.
- Permit Management: Coordinate with closers, other managers, and the office to pull necessary permits before job commencement.
- Employee Training: Train employees in their respective roles, focusing on safety and efficiency. Assist employees in obtaining a Class A CDL.
- Excavation Clean-Up: Oversee and ensure timely completion of all excavation-related clean-up tickets.
- Material Inventory: Maintain and replenish material inventory, ensuring all equipment is stocked for daily jobs.
- Trench certification and Class A CDL required.
- Proven experience in field supervision or a related role in home services.
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
- Proficient in using Service Titan for scheduling and job management.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
