What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Service Crane Technician position at MRA Recruiting Services?
- Inspect, repair/emergency repair, upgrade/modify, install/wire/startup and commission overhead cranes (all manufacturers and types). • Troubleshoot structural, mechanical, and electrical equipment, performing a root cause analysis to determine source/origin of a malfunction.
- Using test equipment and visual inspection, determine repairs needed.
- Perform a post repair audit before completion of work, documenting that all required safety features are functional.
- Document findings including repair and safety related issues and discuss recommendations and corrective actions with the customer.
- Finalize digital service reports and other documents in an accurate, neat, and timely manner following established internal procedures.
- Responsible for the comprehension of all ANSI, CMAA, OSHA, and HMI and other codes or regulations of the crane industry.
- Responsible for completing all mandated training in a timely manner.
- Sales Opportunities: Recognize potential sales leads during service/inspection calls and communicate such leads to the Field Service Manager.
- Working knowledge of general electrical concepts and processes including reading schematics.
- Electrical background with ability to troubleshoot required.
- Experience with using electrical metering/measuring devices (fluke meter, etc).
- Must be mechanically inclined.
- Experience with power tools.
- Basic ability in mathematics, reading, or writing.
- Work in extreme conditions (heat/cold).
- A Valid (Real ID) Driver's License and a clean driving record required.
- Works well independently and as a productive member of a team.
- Travel as needed, up to 75%.
- Pay commensurate with experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Prolonged periods of standing.
- Must not be afraid of heights. Ability to Work at heights up to 135 feet on manlift.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds on a regular basis; lift 50# on occasion.
- Must have good manual dexterity to repair/inspect a crane including bending, stooping/crouching, crawling, climbing, reaching overhead and gasping.
- Must have excellent hand-eye coordination.
- Must wear safety glasses, gloves, and ear protection.
