Position: Project Manager/Estimator – Paving & Heavy Construction
Role Overview:
We are seeking a Project Manager/Estimator with a strong background in paving, asphalt, and heavy highway construction. This role emphasizes estimating and financial management to ensure accurate bids and project success. The ideal candidate will oversee project planning, manage costs, and coordinate with crews and foremen to ensure quality execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and review estimates for roadway and asphalt projects.
- Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors for competitive bids.
- Analyze project risks, costs, and create value-engineering alternatives.
- Manage project timelines and resources, ensuring completion on time and within budget.
- Oversee and optimize the activities of paving crews, foremen, and plant operations.
- Provide technical guidance on construction plans, specs, and site visits.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in estimating for heavy civil or paving projects, with DOT bidding experience.
- Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or equivalent.
- Proficiency in HCSS or similar estimating software.
- Strong financial acumen and attention to detail.
