Job Title: Industrial Assistant Project Manager
Reports To: Project Manager
Job Summary
The Industrial Assistant Project Manager (APM) will support the Project Manager in coordinating, managing, and executing industrial construction projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of industrial construction processes, excellent organizational skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Project Manager in planning, scheduling, and overseeing project activities to ensure timely delivery and adherence to budget and quality standards.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure smooth execution of project deliverables.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and recommend solutions to maintain project timelines and budgets.
- Review project specifications, drawings, and contracts to ensure compliance with requirements.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including reports, meeting minutes, schedules, and budgets.
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress, safety compliance, and quality standards.
- Facilitate effective communication between stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and team members.
- Support procurement efforts by managing purchase orders, submittals, and vendor relationships.
- Assist in resolving field conflicts and change order management.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards and regulations throughout the project lifecycle.
QualificationsEducation and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- 3 years of experience in industrial construction or project management.
- Previous experience supporting large-scale industrial projects (e.g., manufacturing facilities, warehouses, processing plants) is highly desirable.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong understanding of construction practices, methods, and codes related to industrial projects.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
Certifications
- OSHA 30 certification or willingness to obtain it within the first 90 days.
- PMP or equivalent certification is a plus.
