JOB SUMMARY
Seeking senior level Senior Network Engineer to help replacing / upgrading network equipment for various businesses. Role will act as subject matter expert on enterprise network platform and support the locations and equipment being replaced, ensuring all services are restored. Will work in daily operations support before, during, and after each lifecycle event (exchanging equipment) through projects. This role will provide design, steps, and architectural support, serve as point of escalation for all network related issues related to the replacement of equipment, and be expected to document before and after.
As a Network Lifecycle Contractor you will, while working with Network team and local site representatives :
- Gather specifications and use cases that the equipment is currently (and in future) providing, documenting the current environment fully
- Ensure the appropriate equipment is acquired, delivered, and configured in replacing the equipment being replaced
- Travel domestically to sites where lifecycle event will occur
- Migrate to the new equipment during off-hours (evening or weekend)
- Perform analysis of any networking problems after migration is completed, ensuring the businesses at that location can provide the same services they did before
- Ensure changes to network configurations are made with minimal down-time and in accordance with change management policies
- Ensure configuration standards and support documentation is complete
- Reduce security risk by securing network platforms from vulnerabilities and maintain patching cycles of all network software and hardware
- Collaborate and work well with peers, across teams, and with customers in developing solutions and problem resolution
