MRF North America is a shared service company supporting two leaders in the industrial distribution sector, committed to providing exceptional service and innovative solutions to our customers. We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Credit Manager to join our dynamic finance team.
Purpose of the Role?
The Credit Manager is responsible for overseeing the credit and collections process for our U.S. operations. This critical role involves evaluating customer creditworthiness, managing accounts receivable, and enforcing credit policies, all while balancing sales growth with credit risk mitigation. The Credit Manager will provide valuable insights to leadership, ensuring a robust financial strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Credit Management :
- Evaluate credit applications, conduct credit checks, and analyze financial statements to determine customer creditworthiness.
- Approve or recommend credit terms and limits based on thorough risk assessments.
- Manage the credit review process for existing customers, including periodic reassessments.
Policy Implementation :
Develop and enforce credit policies and procedures that align with business objectives and regulatory requirements.Effectively communicate credit policies to internal teams and external customers.Accounts Receivable Oversight :
Monitor accounts receivable balances, ensuring timely collections and addressing delinquent accounts.Work collaboratively with customers to resolve disputes related to credit or payment issues.Oversee the Accounts Receivable Specialist to ensure operational efficiency and accuracy in receivables management.Reporting and Analysis :
Provide regular reports on credit and collections activities, including key performance indicators such as Days Sales Outstanding (DSO).Present insights and updates to the Head of Finance on credit trends, risks, and collections performance.Risk Mitigation :
Identify high-risk accounts and recommend appropriate actions, including credit holds or escalations.Collaborate with legal counsel on escalated credit or collection cases.Collaboration :
Act as a liaison between finance, sales, and customer service departments to align credit and collection strategies with business goals.Support the Head of Finance in strategic initiatives related to credit risk and accounts receivable management.Key Competencies :
Financial Analysis : Strong ability to assess creditworthiness through detailed review of financial statements, credit scores, and payment history.Decision-Making : Excellent judgment in balancing risk and sales opportunities.Communication : Effective in explaining credit decisions to internal stakeholders and customers.Collaboration : Proven ability to work across departments to achieve financial and operational goals.Organization : Skillful in managing multiple priorities, deadlines, and customer accounts.Qualifications :
Education : Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.Experience : Minimum of 5 years in credit management, preferably in an industrial distribution environment.Technical Skills : Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP), Microsoft Excel, and credit analysis tools.Knowledge : Strong understanding of U.S. credit laws and regulations.Scope :
Region : This role covers U.S. operations only.Reporting : Reports directly to the Head of Finance with a dotted-line reporting structure to the President of North America.Supervision : Responsible for overseeing the Accounts Receivable Specialist to ensure the effective management of accounts receivable operations.Why Join Us?
