Assessment Audiologist for the Veteran Community
We are seeking an Audiologist to perform medical assessments on United States Veterans as part of the VA's disability benefits process.
The role involves reviewing a Veteran's pre-existing medical records, which will be uploaded into a computer portal prior to the assessment. During the appointment, you will conduct a Maryland CNC Test and Puretone Audiometric test. Subsequently, you will complete a Disability Benefits Questionnaire (DBQ) in the computer portal, providing the necessary medical evidence for the VA to determine the veteran's benefits.
Please note that as an Audiologist in this position, you will not be prescribing any medical treatments or devices.
The average workload consists of reviewing and assessing 3-6 Veterans per day, with each assessment taking approximately 1 hour to 1 hour and 30 minutes per patient.
This is an in-person position with a regular schedule, offering no evenings, weekends, or on-call commitments, as well as no hearing aid sales responsibilities.
Requirements:
- You must have an Au.D. degree from an ASHA-accredited school.
- You should hold a current license as an Audiologist.
- You must meet the credentialing requirements set forth by the VA.
