What are the responsibilities and job description for the Eye Care Specialist position at MRG Exams?
At MRG Exams, we are seeking a part-time Optometrist to join our team as a Comprehensive Vision Examiner for United States Veterans through the VA's SHA process.
The ideal candidate will have experience in performing comprehensive eye exams and be able to analyze medical health records through a secure Web Portal. Responsibilities include reviewing medical health records, performing comprehensive eye exams, and completing forms through the Web Portal.
- The Optometrist will NOT make determinations, with the VA making all decisions.
- This is a non-treating role, providing assessments only.
- As a 1099 Independent Contractor, the Optometrist will work on Mondays and Wednesdays from 8am to 4pm.
Requirements
- The successful candidate must be interested in performing comprehensive eye exam assessments versus traditional patient care and treatment.
- Able to analyze data from medical records and exam findings to complete forms and form medical opinions.
- Completed forms must be submitted within 24 hours after an exam.
- Must be willing to serve Veterans in their community.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential.
Essential Qualifications
- Current license as an Optometrist in the state where exams are performed.
- Able to perform Visual Field Testing (VFT).
