Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Physician to conduct independent medical assessments for veterans. As an Independent Medical Assessment Specialist, you will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing veterans' medical records, conducting thorough medical evaluations, and submitting DBQs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze veterans' comprehensive medical records through a secure web portal
- Conduct thorough, non-treating assessments of veterans to document their current health conditions
- Complete and submit DBQs based on VA-specific templates to capture all relevant medical findings
- Assess up to four veterans daily
- Schedule: Minimum 2 days/week travel around ND, additional telehealth days available
Requirements:
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in analyzing and synthesizing complex medical data
- Effective time management and organizational skills
- Strong typing skills and attention to detail
- Active MD or DO license with a specialization in PM&R
- Board certification in Neurological Surgery, PM&R, or Psychiatry and Neurology is preferred
