Job Description
A Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Provider is needed to perform medical assessments on United States Veterans as part of the VA's disability benefits process.
The selected candidate will be responsible for reviewing medical health records through a secure web portal and performing a comprehensive assessment on each veteran.
A Disability Benefit Questionnaire (DBQ) will be completed through the web portal, documenting exam findings required by the VA.
This position does not involve making disability determinations, as the VA makes all such decisions.
This role is not a treating position, but rather provides assessments.
On average, the provider will review and assess 4 veterans per day.
Work will be 2-3 days per week.
Requirements
- Must hold a current license as a Physiatrist.
- Must be Board Certified in either Neurological Surgery, PM&R or Psychiatry and Neurology, meeting the credentialing requirements set forth by the VA.
Key Skills
- Ability to analyze data from medical records and exam findings.
- Proficiency in electronic documentation of exam findings.
- Skilled at time management and able to meet requirements.
- Typing skills are essential.
- Interest in serving veterans in their community.
