What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Specialist for Veterans' Care position at MRG Exams?
About the Opportunity
As a Rehabilitation Medicine Expert, you will play a critical role in supporting the VA's disability benefits process by conducting medical assessments on US Veterans.
You will be responsible for reviewing medical health records and performing comprehensive assessments on each veteran through a secure web portal.
Your expertise will be utilized to complete Disability Benefit Questionnaires (DBQs), which require documenting exam findings needed by the VA.
Please note that this role involves independent medical assessments, not treating or making disability determinations. The VA makes all such decisions.
Remote work and travel requirements include 2 days a week of telehealth services and additional days spent traveling within MT.
The average daily caseload is 4 veterans.
To succeed in this role, you should have strong analytical and documentation skills, with the ability to:
- Analyze data from medical records and exam findings to complete DBQs and form medical opinions.
- Find key data points within large electronic medical records.
- Submit completed DBQs within 24 hours after an exam.
Desirable qualifications include:
- Current licensure as a Physiatrist.
- Board certification in Neurological Surgery, PM&R, or Psychiatry and Neurology.
