Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to perform medical assessments on United States Veterans as part of the VA's disability benefits process.
Main Responsibilities
- Review medical records electronically through a web portal and perform a focused, in-person physical exam on each Veteran.
- Electronically document the exam findings required by the VA through the web portal.
The successful candidate will not make disability determinations, as this is solely the responsibility of the United States Veterans Administration. The role involves performing Disability Assessments on Veterans only, with no treatment or medication prescribing responsibilities.
Schedule
This position requires a regular schedule with the following hours:
- Monday and Wednesday: 8:30am-4:30pm
- Friday: 8:30am-12pm
Key Attributes
- Interest in performing Independent Medical Assessments
- Ability to analyze data from medical records and exam findings to complete questionnaires and form medical opinions
- Strong time management skills, with the ability to stay on task and meet requirements
- Current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license
- Proficiency in computer use
Requirements
- Current, unrestricted NP or PA (NCCPA accredited) license
- Credentialing requirements set forth by the VA must be met
