Job Title: Disability Assessment Nurse Practitioner
Overview
In this role, you will conduct comprehensive Disability Assessments on Veterans through a combination of electronic medical record review and in-person physical exams.
Responsibilities
- Review medical records electronically via a web portal to identify relevant information for the assessment.
- Perform focused, in-person physical exams on each Veteran to gather critical data.
- Electronically document exam findings using the VA's web portal, as per required specifications.
The Nurse Practitioner plays a crucial role in collecting data but does not make disability determinations. The United States Veterans Administration is responsible for all disability determinations.
Key Requirements
- A current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license.
- Ability to analyze data from medical records and exam findings to complete questionnaires and form medical opinions.
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to stay focused and meet requirements.
- Proficiency in using a computer and meeting the credentialing requirements set forth by the VA.
Work Environment
This position is based in a clinical setting, and all work is performed in-person. You will work a set schedule during normal business hours (Monday to Friday, 8am-4pm), without any on-call responsibilities.
