What are the responsibilities and job description for the Physiatrist for Independent Medical Assessments position at MRG Exams?
Join MRG Exams West, a leading provider of independent medical examinations, as we serve United States Veterans in their disability benefits process. We are currently seeking a dedicated Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Provider to conduct comprehensive medical assessments.
The role involves reviewing medical health records through a secure Web Portal and performing thorough assessments of veterans. You will complete Disability Benefit Questionnaires (DBQs), which are specific forms created by the VA that document necessary exam findings.
Please note that this position does not involve making disability determinations; all such decisions are solely made by the VA. This role focuses exclusively on providing assessments.
On average, you will assess 4 veterans per day. This position requires in-person attendance for 2 days per week.

- Prefer independent medical assessments over traditional patient care.

- Are willing to dedicate at least 50% of their day to reviewing medical records and documenting exam findings electronically.
- Have a strong ability to extract key data points from extensive electronic medical records.
- Can analyze information from medical records and exam findings to complete DBQs and formulate medical opinions.
- Possess essential typing skills.
- Exhibit excellent time management skills and the ability to maintain focus on tasks to meet requirements.
- Can ensure completed DBQs are submitted within 24 hours post-exam.
- Are passionate about serving veterans in their community.
