What are the responsibilities and job description for the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Physician position at MRG Exams?
MRG Exams West, a leader in independent medical examinations, is seeking a dedicated Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Provider to conduct medical assessments for United States Veterans as part of the VA's disability benefits process.
As a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Provider, you will take on the crucial responsibility of reviewing medical health records through a secure Web Portal and performing thorough assessments for each veteran. You will also complete Disability Benefit Questionnaires (DBQs), which are condition-specific forms created by the VA to document necessary exam findings.
It's important to note that this role does NOT involve making disability determinations—those decisions are made solely by the VA. This is not a treating role; rather, it focuses exclusively on assessments.
You can expect to review and assess an average of 4 Veterans each day in this hybrid role, which involves both telehealth and face-to-face interactions over 3 days a week.
We are looking for PM&R physicians who are :
- Interested in conducting Independent Medical Assessments instead of traditional patient care.
- Comfortable with medical fact-finding and investigative duties.
- Willing to dedicate at least 50% of their day to reviewing medical records and documenting findings electronically.
- Proficient in identifying key data points within extensive electronic medical records.
- Adept at analyzing data from both medical records and examination results to complete DBQs and form medical opinions.
- Possessing essential typing skills.
- Skilled in time management to effectively meet deadlines.
- Committed to submitting completed DBQs within 24 hours following an exam.
- Passionate about serving Veterans in your community.

If you are ready to make a difference in the lives of veterans and contribute to their well-being, we encourage you to apply.
