What are the responsibilities and job description for the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Specialist position at MRG Exams?
MRG Exams West, a leading provider of independent medical examinations, is seeking a dedicated Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Specialist to conduct medical assessments for United States Veterans as part of the VA's disability benefits process.
In this role, you will review medical health records through a secure Web Portal and perform comprehensive assessments on veterans. You will also complete Disability Benefit Questionnaires (DBQs), which are condition-specific forms created by the VA, to document exam findings needed for the assessment process.
Please note that this is NOT a treating role; it solely involves providing assessments. On average, you will review and assess four veterans per day.
Part-Time Position Available : 2 days in-person, with additional telehealth days possible.
We are looking for PM&R physicians who are :
- Interested in performing Independent Medical Assessments rather than traditional patient care.
- Skilled in medical fact-finding and investigative work.
- Willing to spend at least 50% of their working hours reviewing medical records and documenting exam findings electronically.
- Proficient in locating key data points within extensive electronic medical records.
- Able to analyze data from medical records and exam findings to complete DBQs and formulate medical opinions.
- Possessing essential typing skills.
- Effective at time management, ensuring tasks are performed efficiently and deadlines are met.
- Committed to submitting completed DBQs within 24 hours following an examination.
- Eager to serve veterans in their community.
