Overview of the Role
We are seeking a licensed psychologist to conduct comprehensive medical assessments on United States Veterans as part of the VA's disability benefits process.
The selected candidate will review behavioral health records electronically through a secure Web Portal and perform detailed assessments in person on each Veteran.
They will also complete Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) through the Web Portal.
This role does not involve making disability determinations, which are made by the U.S. Veterans Administration using the findings recorded in the DBQs.
The average caseload per day is 4 Veterans.
This is an independent contractor position with a part-time schedule of 2-3 days per week.
The position requires in-person interaction with Veterans.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting thorough medical assessments of Veterans' behavioral health records
- Performing comprehensive assessments in person on each Veteran
- Completing Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) through the Web Portal
Requirements for Success
- A Ph.D. or Psy.D. from an APA-accredited program is required
- An active and unrestricted psychology license is necessary
- Credentialing requirements set forth by the VA must be met
