Under general supervision performs all duties associated with acquisition, processing, submission for interpretation, and archiving of MRI images. Responsible for the care of the patient while in the MRI department. Performance of daily start-up activities and maintenance and Quality Control performance.
Major Job Functions:
Positions patient and selects appropriate options to demonstrate cross-sectional anatomy of interest based on accepted MRI principles.
Performs venipuncture for administration of contrast media.
Reviews all diagnostic imaging requests for appropriateness based on clinical information provided. All questionable orders are to be communicated to radiologists for final approval.
Judges diagnostic quality of finished medical images prior to submission to radiologist for interpretation.
Obtains images, produces film records and backups from desk to storage media, and transfers from desk to workstation.
Offers detailed explanation of diagnostic procedures to patients and answers questions as appropriate.
Observes patient while in MRI department for change in status and makes appropriate intervention or contacts primary care givers for instructions.
Oversees and directs Tech Assistants that may be assigned to the area for which they are responsible.
Performs Quality Assurance on MRI equipment and laser camera.
Maintains Patient Safety Controls.
Carefully review answers to safety questions.
Verbally review with patient, presence or absence of metals in the body.
Qualifications:
Graduate of an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology
No post graduate experience required. (We are willing to train in MRI)
Registered or Registry eligible through ARRT. Sub-specialty registration in MRI preferred.
Maintain current CPR Certification.
Pay: $70,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
