What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager IT, Platform Engineering position at MRI Software?
POSITION SUMMARY:
MRI Software is seeking a Manager of IT Platform Engineering to join our team in Solon, OH! This individual will be responsible for leading the North American based Cloud and data center engineering team members.
- Regional Leadership responsibilities for North America based team members, and part of the Global IT Organizations leadership team
- Working with latest cloud technologies and with providers themselves to create and support cloud solutions for the MRI products and services
- Work to enhance MRI’s Cloud and data center capabilities, drive adoption and improve operational processes
- Leading a team of IT professionals based in North America and working closely with the EMEA and APAC teams
Essential Functions Include:
- Build a high performing team through staff development, recruiting, and retention to support growing business needs
- Direct management responsibilities for all in region Cloud and Data Center Engineering team members. Work with NA leadership to ensure commonality of approach and recruitment as well as working with regional and global leadership for resource management and development
- Prioritize work tasks and projects to ensure business priorities are met
- Optimizing solutions to improve performance, function, or costs
- Ensure security is the cornerstone of the designs, services, and implementations
- Work with other MRI teams to jointly deliver projects as well as being able to work as individual to complete smaller tasks
SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS:
- 7 plus years’ experience within IT related technology field and relevant leadership experience
- Bachelor’s degree in related field – and/or relevant qualification and/or relevant experience
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to inspire a team to achieve great things
- Execution: Demonstrated ability to take concrete actions to deliver and inspire
- Polished skills in communication, leadership, planning, motivation, coaching and cross team collaboration
- Experience deploying and supporting Microsoft Azure systems, services, and cloud native capabilities
- Experience in DevOps/Cloud automation and scripting (such as Terraform and Ansible) as well as working to ensure security configurations and processes are utilized, identifying risks, and ensuring compliance with recognized standards
- Collaborator with Problem Solving, ‘Can-do’ Mindset and a client centric focus
- Kubernetes, AWS, Linux, MS SQL, and Docker experience a plus
