MRI, a woman-owned Technologies and Engineering Services company, has an exciting opportunity for a Simulation Software Engineer on the Orion team. The Orion Program is a groundbreaking collaboration between NASA and Lockheed Martin, dedicated to developing the Orion spacecraft-the next-generation vehicle designed for deep space exploration. As a key part of NASA's Artemis Program, Orion will help establish a long-term presence on the Moon and serve as a steppingstone for future human missions to Mars. As a Simulation Software Engineer you will:
- Develop and maintain simulation software for Orion spacecraft systems.
- Collaborate with engineers to design, implement, and validate simulation models.
- Use Python and C to develop and optimize software solutions.
- Support system integration and testing, ensuring software accuracy and reliability.
- Work within a multidisciplinary team to enhance mission-critical simulations.
Here's What You'll Need:
Requisition Qualifications:
- Typically requires a bachelor's degree in Engineering with experience in the field or in a related area
- Experience with C/C and Python
- Experience with simulation software (SIM) development
- Strong understanding of aerospace or spacecraft simulation environments.
- Ability to apply knowledge/experience towards timely completion of technical products & services
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work in a multi-company team environment
- Strong leadership skills
Requisition Preferences:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or a related field) from an accredited engineering school
- Experience with spacecraft simulation.
- Experience in software development for high-fidelity simulations.
- Background in developing, testing, and optimizing simulation tools for aerospace applications.
Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency may be a requirement for this position.
Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.

Essential Functions
Work Environment
Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.
Physical Requirements
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).

Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.).
Attendance
Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
