Electrical Engineer - Sugar Refineries, CO
Position Overview:
Our client, a prominent Sugar Refinery, is seeking a degreed Electrical Engineer based near Denver, CO, responsible for overseeing electrical and instrumentation upgrades at multiple sugar beet processing sites across the Rocky Mountain region.
Travel Requirements:
Up to 50%, including Colorado, Nebraska, Wyoming & Montana, auditing facilities to ensure proper operation and maintenance of electrical and instrumentation equipment.
Reporting Line:
Reports to the Electrical Engineering Manager. Building strong relationships with plant personnel, engineering staff, and vendors.
Essential Functions:
- Lead electrical and instrumentation projects from design through execution.
- Utilize engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD) for design tasks.
- Collaborate with engineers and plant personnel for troubleshooting and project implementation.
- Prepare electrical system specifications, technical drawings, and maps.
- Perform calculations for standards, designs, and plans.
- Ensure compliance with standards, specifications, and codes.
- Conduct inspections to ensure equipment safety and operability.
- Prepare reports and compile project data.
- Develop specifications for electrical equipment.
- Supervise and train plant personnel and project teams.
- Estimate material, labor, and construction costs.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical problems.
- Install, service, calibrate, and update electrical systems.
- Develop and test electrical system prototypes.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in industrial Electrical Engineering.
- Proficiency in medium and low voltage system design (12470V to 24V).
- Familiarity with NEC and NFPA 70E.
- Experience in PLC cabinets, MCC, and Switchboards design.
- Proficiency in relevant engineering software.
- Knowledge of electrical engineering codes and standards.
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Salary:
