Field Quality Engineer – Drive Excellence in Customer Experience

We're seeking a highly motivated Field Quality Engineer to champion quality initiatives across one of our best client’s customer base. This role is all about boots-on-the-ground problem-solving, requiring a blend of technical expertise, analytical prowess, and exceptional communication skills. You'll be the face of quality, working directly with customers to investigate issues, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement.

What You'll Do :

  • Be the quality advocate, ensuring customer requirements are met and quality processes are upheld.
  • Dive deep into problem-solving, developing and implementing corrective actions and improvements (including Root Cause Corrective Action).
  • Partner with new product development teams to ensure robust testing and procedures.
  • Design and implement inspection and testing standards and methods.
  • Craft and implement effective sampling procedures for field service.
  • Leverage problem-solving methodologies (like 8D, DMAIC, and PFMEA) to tackle challenges.
  • Empower internal and external teams through training on quality systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Take ownership of field actions, managing them from start to finish.
  • Conduct thorough field investigations at customer sites, uncovering the root cause of issues.
  • Develop detailed rework and inspection work instructions.

What You'll Need :

  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment (experience with metal fabrication and mechatronics a plus).
  • A solid understanding of Quality Management Systems, quality assurance terminology, processes, and tools.
  • Strong statistical analysis skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills – you'll be interacting with all levels.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • The ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a team-oriented mindset.
  • A strong work ethic, leadership potential, and sound decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Willingness to travel extensively (50% average).
  • Bonus Points :

  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) certification.
  • Experience with inspection and testing of electromechanical devices.
