Position Overview
This role of the plant Process Engineer will be to provide expert guidance in supporting the operations and production teams within a chemical manufacturing operation. This position requires an individual capable of managing a wide range of responsibilities in quality validation, production process control and supply chain.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and verify chemical processes and equipment, ensuring compliance with Quality Management Systems (DQ/IQ/OQ/PQ) and overseeing change control procedures.
- Lead or assist in projects related to technology transfer, process scaling, and the commercialization of chemical products.
- Implement strategies like Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design of Experiments (DOE) to optimize processes and aid in product development.
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams (including Production, R&D, Quality, and Supply Chain) to address issues and meet production goals.
- Develop and enhance internal workflows, SOPs, and training programs to foster productivity and efficiency improvements.
- Ensure equipment meets industry standards and assist in its installation, commissioning, and validation testing.
- Provide support for pilot testing and scaling up new processes, documenting findings and offering recommendations for improvements.
- Perform other duties as required by management.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution, or equivalent professional experience.
- Prior experience in a regulated industry (e.g., EPA, FDA).
- Proven track record in leading cross-functional teams, with familiarity in continuous improvement methodologies like lean thinking and Six Sigma.
- Experience in scaling chemical processes and managing production quality systems.
- Strong ability to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Proficiency with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
