Job Description

The Associate Director Marketing Automation will manage the tactical marketing automation operations within Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) and other channels/systems integrating with SFMC. They have at least 6-8 year’s senior level experience setting up complex, integrated and automated campaigns within SFMC. They have worked with clients to provide Marketing Automation expertise regarding their campaign operational plan such as best practices in IP/domain warming, creating email templates, assisting with forms and landing page set up including preference centers, configuring cloud connectors, and integrating data with a CDP and/or a CRM. They also have configured complex dynamic content, lead scoring and progressive profiling and have experience implementing either Marketing Cloud Personalization or Mobile Studio.

Primary Day To Day Responsibilities

  • Manage a cross functional team of automation managers and specialists in the Salt Lake City office and remote locations within the United States.
  • Ensure teams are able to assist the client in requirements gathering for complex nurturing programs, helping clients understand requirements and proactively providing feedback to optimize campaign process and performance.
  • Act as a point of escalation and resolution particularly relating to decisions that directly impact execution, launch timelines, and integrations.
  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert for all SFMC marketing automation operational activities - providing industry research and recommendations to internal and client teams - approach, strategy, risks, and best practices as well as technical perspectives on systems administration, configuration, customization, and integration with other systems.
  • Ensure your team can troubleshoot and resolve issues with configuration and integration.
  • Ensure your team does QA testing both before and after key project deliverables are deployed.
  • Help support and lead internal weekly statuses, and weekly or bi-weekly client statuses as needed.
  • Work with our analytics and reporting team to help establish appropriate analytics to monitor and measure campaign and program effectiveness providing optimization recommendations where necessary.
  • Help with documenting processes and procedures for internal and client teams. Also, help leads create new or update existing training plans for our Marketing Automation team members.
  • Work in close partnership with MRM’s Marketing Operations, Relationship Marketing, Technology, Project Management, and Business Leadership teams.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of industry and enterprise-wide digital strategy and trends.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • 6-8 years of technical/strategic use of Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
  • Ability to advise on both technical and business impacts related to use of omnichannel programs and reporting platforms.
  • Minimum 3 years of management experience.
  • Minimum 3 years client management experience with ability to build strong relationships, gaining credibility and partnering with clients, business leaders and peers.
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, AMPscript, SQL and/or SSJS is preferred.
  • Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud Personalization or Mobile Studio.
  • Experience delivering rapidly designed and developed projects using Program Management Best Practices – timelines, client expectations, budget/profitability, scope, etc.
  • Experience working with global teams is preferred.
