Job Summary:
The Bartender will be paid $5.35 per hour and be a non-exempt employee. This position has a 90-day probationary period. The Bartender is a line level position that ensures day-to-day tasks of the restaurant are met. The Bartender is responsible for knowing, understanding, and upholding company policies and procedures while also providing an excellent guest experience. Pursuant to state law, Bartenders must be 21 years of age or older to perform the duties of this position. The Bartender is expected to know and comply with Liquor Laws in the State of Ohio.
Accountabilities:
The Bartender will be accountable for successfully executing the following responsibilities:
- Ensure a positive dining experience for all guests by providing excellent customer service and following all steps of service.
- Accurately take customer orders and clarify any special requests or dietary restrictions.
- Answer customer questions about the menu, ingredients, and specials, and make recommendations as needed.
- Address and resolve any customer complaints or issues professionally and promptly.
- Ensure that all orders are placed and served efficiently and effectively.
- Ensure that food and beverages are delivered in a timely manner.
- Accurately process transactions, handle cash, and operate the POS system.
- Maintain knowledge of the rules and regulations that govern liquor permits in Ohio, with emphasis on knowledge, responsibilities and risks involved with handling and serving alcohol.
- Check identification to ensure customers are of legal age to purchase alcohol.
- Follow recipes and standard procedures to prepare all beverages and ensure quality standards.
- Maintain workstations by keeping all areas and equipment clean, sanitized, stocked, and organized.
- Follow all health and food safety regulations, including proper food handling and hygiene practices.
- Be aware of and follow safety procedures to prevent accidents and ensure a safe environment for both guests and staff.
- Follow all opening, running, and closing procedures.
- Operate equipment properly and report any maintenance issues or malfunctions to management.
- Work and communicate effectively with other staff members and management to ensure a positive work environment.
- Participate in all training sessions and meetings as required to stay updated on procedures, new menu items, and company policies.
- Abide by all company policies and procedures.

Qualifications Required:
- 21 years of age or older, pursuant to state laws
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- Interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong task and time management skills / Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Experience/Knowledge Required:
- Preferably related experience in a dynamic restaurant atmosphere
- Basic bartending skills and knowledge of alcoholic beverages and mixed drinks
- Comprehension of basic mathematics skills for cash handling and to understand recipes, measurements, requisition amounts, and portion sizes
Physical Requirements:
- Candidates must meet physical requirements to effectively perform job responsibilities. This includes standing for long periods of time, walking, sitting, utilization of hands and arms, maneuvering up and down stairs with no difficulty, and lifting up to fifty pounds
