Machine Technician/Process Technician

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Responsible for preventative maintenance, changeover, and unscheduled tool repair of Machinery in production areas.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Work safely at all times including proper LOTO of machines and proper use of PPE

· Maintain 5S and participate in continuous improvement efforts

· Be a positive role model for the team

· Responsible for following all safety rules and regulations and all procedures

· Responsible to repair, rebuild or overhaul all types of production, service equipment and machine parts in all production areas and replacement for various production equipment

· Filling out necessary paperwork properly and in a timely fashion

· Be REULTS oriented using visual KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators)

· Be multi-skilled to support team members as needed

· Develop and follow the standardized work instructions to minimize machine downtime

· Seek out assistance from department supervisor/ manager/ team leaders as required

· Support and participate in continuous improvement efforts

· Be a good listener and understand issues before coming up with solutions (root cause analysis)

REQUIRED SKILLS / ATTITUDES:

· Strong organizational skills, the ability to perform under pressure and management of multiple priorities with competing demands for resources.

· Manufacturing industry background.

· Position requires ability to work overtime as needed to complete job.

REQUIREMENTS:

· High school diploma of GED

· Ability to operate forklift equipment a plus

· Able to use hand tools and do light machining

· Have a mechanical ability

· Knowledge of molding operations a plus

· Equivalent combined education and experience will be considered for starting Rate of Position.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 12 hour shift
• Rotating shift
• Rotating weekends

Ability to Relocate:

• Plattsburgh, NY 12901: Relocate before starting work (Required)
