POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Traffic coordinator plans, co-ordinate, and oversee the shipping of goods from the point of packaging to the point of pick up. They work with customers to ensure their goods are scheduled and planned when they need them and oversee transportation from one location or place of business to another or a customer. The Traffic Coordinator will act as a central liaison between the customer and outside sales, production planning, supply chain management, marketing, shipping, quality assurance, manufacturing, finance and engineering. This position will be responsible for all activities of assigned accounts in support of the overall goals, objectives, mission and vision of the organization.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work safely at all times
- Coordinating transportation providers to ensure prompt and proper movement of shipments.
- Develop and foster trusted customer relationships through meetings and various forms of communication including but not limited to telephone, e-mail, web based, and conference calls
- Track the shipment of final products according to customer requirements
- Monitor scheduled shipment dates to ensure timely delivery of product
- Serve as a liaison between the customer and various departments
- Manage time effectively, meet personal goals and work effectively with other members of the team
- Maintain proficiency in use of personal computer, data entry terminal and common office equipment/software
- Participate in the formation of actionable, value-added solutions or process improvement through suggestions and feedback to appropriate staff that support best practices in sales and customer service
- Create and/or prepare various reports as requested by management or the customer
- Follow company policies and procedures
- Present a professional image at all times to customers
Position requirements:
- 4-year college degree; in Business, Sales or Marketing preferred, HS Diploma required
- Must have logistics/shipping experience
- International document experience
- Excellent communication skills (phone, e-mail)
- Ability to type 60-70 words per minute
- Excellent customer service skills(friendly, courteous and helpful)
- Ability to handle pressure in a fast paced environment
