Position is for an Assistant Center Administrator with an early childhood development Head Start Center located in MC COMB, MS.
Summary: In the absence of the Center Administrator, the incumbent has the responsibility of supervision and management of the overall day-to-day operations of the assigned center to ensure delivery of quality services to children and families. Maintaining an up-to-date listing of all staff credentials and records on professional development pursuit status for those pursuing degree course work to assure staff progress towards educational requirements as supported by MAP and the Head Start Performance Standards. Assisting in the coordination and arrangement of services in all functional areas, utilizing internal and external resources to provide quality services as deemed appropriate for each enrolled family to include, but may not be limited to the following areas: Monitoring classrooms daily to observe staff/child interactions and to assure staff/child ratio is maintained; Coordinating/monitoring daily activities of family services staff to include but not limited to scheduling service delivery appointments (medical, dental, FPA, home visits, etc. to assure quality services are provided within required time frames.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree or above in Business Administration, Early Childhood Education, Education Administration, Education Leadership, or related discipline, with a minimum of 18 hours in Early Childhood Education, and two (2) years of experience in a preschool child development program; Strong Knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards and Mississippi childcare regulations preferred; Excellent oral and written communication skills required; Travel required, some overnight; Valid Mississippi driver’s license required and access to a reliable vehicle required.
