Custodian & Facility Maintenance Technician
Department: Building Maintenance
Department/ Area: Building Maintenance
Position Summary:
This position performs custodial and maintenance duties in and around manufacturing building. Facility Maintenance Technician will perform unskilled and semi-skilled tasks for maintenance and repair general building maintenance and custodial duties; landscaping work responds to calls for emergency repair work needed and performs other necessary maintenance and custodial work as required to meet the facility’s needs.
Essential duties:
Report to the building maintenance manager.
Working Conditions: Machine shop environment. Most of the work requires routine walking, standing, bending, and lifting
Position type:
Requires full work time only. 8 hours a shift- Monday to Friday - overtime expected depending on production needs. Regular attendance is an essential job function.

Custodian & Facility Maintenance Technician

Position Summary:
This position performs custodial and maintenance duties in and around manufacturing building. Facility Maintenance Technician will perform unskilled and semi-skilled tasks for maintenance and repair general building maintenance and custodial duties; landscaping work responds to calls for emergency repair work needed and performs other necessary maintenance and custodial work as required to meet the facility’s needs.
Essential duties:
- Perform minor property maintenance and repairs including, but not limited to plastering, painting, drywall repair, fixing/installing light fixtures, installing brand new appliances, light plumbing.
- Repair and maintain furniture and equipment.
- Perform and manage routine building maintenance tasks, including carpentry, electrical, plumbing and HVAC repair and maintenance.
- Gather and empty trash.
- Service, clean, and supply restrooms.
- Clean and polish furniture, restroom fixtures, counter tops, bathroom stalls, toilets, and urinals, concessions, etc.
- Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors.
- Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.
- Make adjustments and minor repairs, as needed (i.e. replacing/adjusting bolts and screws, adjusting door handles, etc.).
- Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies, either manually or by using hand trucks.
- Clear and dispose of trash and debris from grounds, walkways/sidewalks, and curbs.
- Good communications skills, ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Knowledge of the basic uses and purposes of tools, materials and equipment used in buildings, streets, grounds and parks maintenance. Basic knowledge of plumbing, carpentry and electrical work.
