Manufacturing Operations Specialist

About the Role:

The Manufacturing Engineer will play a crucial part in ensuring our production processes align with industry best practices, enhancing efficiency and quality. This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify areas for improvement and implement effective solutions.

Main Responsibilities:

• Plan and execute machine and process improvements to enhance safety, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
• Conduct thorough root-cause analysis and implement countermeasures to address issues.
• Develop and maintain General Engineering Design and Process Planning Sheets, ensuring they are up-to-date and aligned with industry standards.
• Source and procure spare parts based on availability and mean time between failures.
• Initiate setup and process capability studies to establish optimal conditions.
• Participate in internal trial builds and external run-off testing in various locations.
• Meet divisional goals by completing work efficiently and effectively.
• Support machine recovery efforts in complex situations, utilizing contingency planning strategies.
• Collaborate with the design team to enhance product design, reducing costs and improving manufacturability.
• Prepare process plans and capital acquisition proposals for executive management review.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Ability to comprehend mechanical components and electrical control logic.
• Understanding of physical science principles and their application in manufacturing.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting 2-D blueprints, GD&T, and technical specifications.
• Familiarity with basic CAD software for design review, plant layout, and tooling improvements.
• Knowledge of problem-solving techniques, including 5 Why, SPC, Six Sigma, and DOE.
• Basic to intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications and database management.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
