In this role, you will have the opportunity to leverage your technical expertise and leadership skills to guide and shape the future of our Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) team within the Building Systems Architectural Group.
As the Director of MEP, you will set the vision for the department and play a critical role in its long-term success. You’ll oversee a talented team for the design process of high-performing sustainable MEP systems that meet client needs.

What You'll Do:
1. Strategic Vision and Direction
- Define and implement the strategic direction for the MEP group aligned with organizational goals.
- Identify emerging trends and technologies in MEP systems to maintain a competitive edge in the market.
2. Team Leadership and Development
- Mentor, coach, and inspire team members, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
3. Project Oversight and Delivery
- Ensure successful delivery of MEP designs, from inception to project completion, meeting quality, budget, and timeline metrics.
- Provide technical guidance and support to teams on complex projects.
- Establish and maintain processes for project management, ensuring consistency and efficiency.
4. Client and Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as the primary contact for clients, ensuring satisfaction and building long-term relationships.
- Collaborate with other departments, including architecture, engineering, and business development teams, to align goals and coordinate project efforts.
5. Financial and Operational Management
- Manage the MEP group’s budget, including resource allocation and cost control.
- Oversee profitability and financial performance of MEP projects.
6. Innovation
- Drive innovation in MEP systems, ensuring designs are efficient, sustainable, and client focused.
7. Leadership Team Contribution
- Collaborate with senior leaders to develop and execute the company’s strategic vision.
- Contribute to the overall growth and success of the organization through cross-departmental initiatives.
What You'll Bring:
1. Educational Background
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering field.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license required.
2. Leadership and Management Skills
- Strong leadership abilities to inspire, mentor, and develop a high-performing team.
- Strategic vision to drive the department’s growth and technical innovation.
- Excellent project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and quality control.
- Ability to motivate teams, resolve conflicts, and foster a positive team culture.
3. Experience
- Significant experience in MEP engineering, design, and management.
- Proven track record in leading technical teams and delivering complex projects.
- Experience in the architectural or construction industry is a plus.
4. Technical Expertise
- Expertise in MEP systems design, development, and maintenance.
- Familiarity with sustainable and energy-efficient design practices.
- Proficiency in applicable codes, standards, and design software (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD).
5. Communication and Collaboration
- Exceptional communication skills for client interactions, presentations, and internal coordination.
- Ability to collaborate with other departments, including architecture and business development.
- Skilled in building and maintaining relationships.
