ms is seeking an experienced Project Analyst to join our Finance & Accounting team to assist our Project Managers with the financial element of project budget and contract compliance. Responsibilities would include setting up, planning, billing, collecting and analyzing financial performance of customer projects for the assigned Project Manager’s portfolio.

What You’ll Do:
The Project Analyst will utilize existing client systems to support current and future work with respect to budgeting, financial forecasting, actual cost tracking, variance analysis, and contingency tracking. The Project Analyst will also prepare comprehensive reports to support the project manager as required.
Contract Setup
- Act as Project Administrator to include initial project set-up, on-going maintenance, project planning, execution and closeout.
- Assist in preparing the initial project schedule including the WBS structure for projects based on the scope of work, the contract overhead and profit, and billing requirements in the project setup.
Project Finance
- Support Project Managers in the generation of client and internal status reports that effectively communicate costs, schedule status, and trends.
- Work in close coordination with Microsoft Dynamics Planning module to ensure current budgets, expenditures, accurate percent completes & estimates to complete (ETC) values are maintained in the project database.
- Assist PMs with project financial tracking and cost controls in Microsoft Dynamics financial management and forecasting tools.
- Assist the Project Manager in preparing project recovery plans for projects that are not within the 2% profit goal.
Project Billing
- Prepare a draft billing package each billing period for review by the PM. This includes gathering supporting documents, such as the client required monthly progress reports and MBE/WBE status reports.
- Work with PM on modifications to draft billing package, resulting in final billing package, and all related documents to submit to clients.
- Monitor A/R for projects and notify the project manager of the outstanding invoices.
What You’ll Bring:
We are looking for someone who is an effective problem-solver with strong verbal and written communication skills that is flexible to help where needed. They will have the ability to analyze, interpret, and present financial data to project staff and clients. The individual must be pro-active, anticipating needs, and working ahead to track and consult on project costs.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field or equivalent years of experience.
- Proven experience with project coordination, project delivery, or contract administration or related experience
Preferred Requirements:
- Understanding of fundamental project control and management methodologies using Microsoft Dynamics and/or Deltek Vision, IT systems, MS Excel, MS Word, and other administrative tools.
- Understanding of financial analysis, including billing and revenue, costs and expenses, profitability, accounts receivable, and forecasting.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to perform administrative tasks in addition to financial management and project management tasks.
