Waterway Permitting Specialist - Environmental (Hybrid)

We are looking to add another Waterway Permitting Specialist to our environmental studies team. The ideal candidate will understand how to prepare Section 404/401 permit applications for transportation, utility, and commercial development projects in Ohio or nearby states. Tasks will include conducting stream and wetland field studies, writing and reviewing technical reports, preparing Section 401/404 permit applications, and related environmental documents. This position will involve some travel, possible overnight stays, and interaction with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and regulatory agency personnel.

What You'll Do:
- Prepare Nationwide and Individual Section 404 and Section 401 Water Quality Permit Applications including narratives, maps, and standard forms.
- Meet with federal and state agency staff during the application review process.
- Prepare and review wetland delineation and stream functional assessments.
- Organize and re-format information included in construction plans.
- Create maps and graphics using GIS.
- Coordinate with federal and state agencies regarding endangered species and historic resources.
- Assist with preparation of environmental documents related to stream and wetland impacts.
What You'll Bring:
- Excel and enjoys working individually and in a team environment
- Experience working with Army Corps and Ohio EPA waterway permit applications is required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Policy, or equilivant experience
- 5 years of relevant experience with waterway permit applications preferred.
- Experience with State of Ohio regulatory agencies (OEPA, ODNR, OHPO) is preferred.
- Experience with state DOT projects is preferred.
