What are the responsibilities and job description for the Forensic Re-Entry Project Coordinator (TTI) position at MS Department of Mental Health?
This contractual position is available at the Mississippi Department of Mental Health (DMH). The Forensic Re-Entry Project Coordinator will be responsible for working with participants in prison, during reentry, and will follow-up with participants after reentry. The project coordinator will serve as a conduit between the collaborating organizations and partners, providing oversight for coordination, advocacy, and compliance. This position will also, in conjunction with the Director of the Division of Peer Recovery and Support, draft the Standard Operating Procedures for the program and provide oversight of its execution. The coordinator is responsible for project planning, oversight of project team activities, identifying resources, and the development of project plans, timelines, and accountabilities. The coordinator will be accountable for documenting project deliverables and measuring project outcomes. The coordinator will maintain frequent interaction with forensics related administrators, individuals involved in the criminal justice system, and other stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
Project Implementation
- Implement goals, objectives, and outcomes for the Forensics Re-Entry Peer Support Services Project
- Coordinate the development, implementation, and maintenance of policies and procedures for
the Forensics Peer Support Services programs, consistent with all applicable state and federal requirements
- Foster partnerships statewide
- Develop and implement strategies to improve service delivery
- Support the outreach activities of the Forensics Peer Support Services Projects
Programs Oversight
- Conduct monthly stakeholder meetings with stakeholders
- Conduct site visits
- Develop status reporting forms
- Collects monthly/quarterly/yearly Forensics Peer Support Services and supporting data
- Complete monthly/quarterly/yearly Forensics Peer Support Services Projects reports
- Monitor and report performance outcomes
- Track a statewide data base of Forensics Peer Support Specialists, including Certification
- Assist in job connections
- Ensure compliance to grant requirements
- Implement and negotiate service contracts with Forensics Peer Support Services and supporting stakeholders.
- Ensure comprehensive monitoring, oversight and evaluation of the Forensics Peer Support Services and supporting programs.
- Implement all needed reports for Forensics Peer Support Services programs as required by the funding source/TTI.
- Provide grant TA assistance to recipients Services to Forensics Peer Support Services Program
- Coordinate and/or provide consultation, technical assistance and coaching to assure that the Peer Recovery Support Services model and approaches are implemented and adhere to best practice standards.
- Effectively engage and provide consistent contact and feed back to stakeholders
- Assist programs with the development of policy manuals, job descriptions and other necessary tasks to effectively administer the Forensics Peer Support Services Projects.
Training
- Coordinate Forensics Certified Peer Support Specialist Professionals (CPSSP) trainings with training team (i.e., Association of MS Peer Support Specialists) to provide training
- Assist with identifying training needs.
Required Qualifications:
· Working experience with data in excel, adobe products
· DocuSign to route approved data/correspondence for signature to internal/external stakeholders
· Self-discipline/starter to ensure admin support to aid the team
· Ability to quickly learn software elements for reporting
· Data import/export
· Strong organizational skills
· Ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Report compilation and general data management experience.
· Working knowledge about the Mississippi Department of Mental Health.
· Working knowledge about the Mississippi criminal justice system.
· Experience and/or working knowledge of direct mental health services and criminal justice system.
Salary: $23.71 per hour
This is a contractual position with the Department of Mental Health. Contract personnel are not eligible to participate in the Public Employees’ Retirement System nor receive leave benefits as employees of the State of Mississippi.
Contract personnel may purchase the base plan of the State and School Employees’ Health Insurance Plan provided that such person pays the full price of such plan without contribution from the employer.
Hours: Flexible, 20 – 32 per week, Monday - Friday
