Overview:
The Department of Revenue is the primary agency for collecting tax revenues that support state and local governments in Mississippi.
About the position:
First-level Application Development position that is typically
involved in standard coding, debugging, and modifying existing
applications. Conducts standard testing and prepares
documentation in accordance with existing standards and
practices. Utilizes existing software tools. Works under the
direction of a more seasoned Application Development resource
or Team Leader. May provide support as member of team for new
configurations.
Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and 0-2 years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Basic to Intermediate Programing experience in Visual Basic, C# (C
Sharp) Programming language, Structured Query Language (Create
and Edit SQL scripts, doc mappings and database tables, , XML-
Extensible Markup Language, Visual Studio Application, Microsoft
SQL Server Management Studio 18, Microsoft Office 365, and
Ultra-edit / Notepad
What you’ll need to be Successful:
Attention to detail, Communication Skills, Researcher and problem
solver, Develop and document test plans and data samples,
perform demonstration of completed assignment(s), Basic to
Intermediate Computer programming skills, includes responsible
for using sound and accurate judgement in identifying and solving
development issues. Work closely with Subject Matter Experts to
test solution requests. Prioritize time to ensure deadlines are met.
Multitask and produce good quality and performant output.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,137.60 - $54,787.82 per year
